So, I finally got this thing started! :) Please be patient as I'm new at this whole 'blog' thing and not quite sure how the thing works. Looks pretty easy though, so there's hope I'll be able to keep up with it....:)
We've been in Perth for about 3 weeks now and we're finally settled into our new home in South Perth. We lived in a hotel in downtown Perth for about a week and now live across the river, just a quick 10 minute ferry ride. Andrew works downtown and our apartment location is great -- Micah gets strapped into the stroller, we walk 5 minutes into town and the ferry is at the end of the street! We've been meeting Andrew for lunch 1-2 times per week which is wonderful. Micah LOVES riding on the ferry so that's a plus! I've posted some pics of one of our ferry trips. We always meet someone interesting on the ferry as well! :) Most Aussies here are friendly and having a baby makes them all the more friendlier! :)
Perth is beautiful. I've never seen such a BLUE sky! It's a very outdoor culture so you'll see lots of people riding bikes, running, hanging out on the grass, etc. The weather is a bit cool - when we got here it was warm but it suddenly dropped down to the 30/40s at night and the 50/60s during the day. The internet technician said he's never seen it so cold in the twenty-something years he's lived here. It figures, we move to Houston and it snows, we move to Perth and they get frost for the first time in years - the Kulpecz family brings the cold!! :)
Alright, Andrew's going to help me post some pics. It's Saturday so we're off to practice driving......:/ The whole driving on the other side of the road has me a little anxious. My Houston friend, Brooke, who's lived in Sydney and New Zealand gave me a good piece of advice to just keep the white line closest to me/the driver. Just got to figure out the darn roundabouts. Pretty sure Andrew's going to sprout some gray hairs after this session. :)
More later.
