Hovea Falls
Strapped on tight!!This past weekend we took advantage of the nice weather and did a little exploring outside of the city. Andrew decided to take us on a drive to John Forrest National Park, about 35 minutes outside Perth. We were a little nervous since Micah has decidedly put riding in the car on his sh*t-list (I feel like we have one of the few kids on the planet who hates the car). After talking to Andrew's parents (and hearing how Andrew screamed for 1 1/2 hours on a car ride and then vomited at the 2 hour mark) we decided to take Grandpa Al's advice and just go for it. Armed with food and a several obnoxious kid c.d.'s we drove off. The park has several easy walking trails that cut through the forested areas. You can walk alongside the 'river' and there are several little waterfalls to trek to. Micah got strapped into the Ergo baby carrier on Andrew's back and we walked about 3+ miles worth. It was a wonderful day and so good to get outside of the city! We're looking forward to more exploring next weekend!
P.S: Micah loved being in the Ergo carrier (although we probably need a better carrier for warmer weather - one where Micah's actually elevated off our back). And apparently, obnoxious baby cd's are what Micah requires to enjoy car rides - the kid didn't make a peep during that ride or during the ride to the mall with Mommy on Monday, phew! :)
